Life is a Beautiful Thing

This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up.

Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, somg go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world.

As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up becuase if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything.

Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about :)

Life is Too Short to be Anything But Happy

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so love the people who treat you right,
forget about the ones who don't,
and believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it...
Laugh when you can,
apologize when you should,
and let go of what you can't change.
Kiss slowly, play hard, forgive quickly, take chances,
give everything and have no regrets.
Life's too short to be anything but happy
People are going to love you, hate you, hate to love you, and love to hate you,
but the ones who mean the most will always be there...

I Really Lived

I don't want to drive
up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp
I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.
